Jakub Tabor

My name is Jakub, and I am a Polish composer, sound artist, and writer working primarily within ambient, drone, minimalist, and experimental music. For more than a decade I have explored the relationship between memory, place, and sound through a wide range of independent projects, each representing a different stage of my artistic development.

My work combines field recordings, synthesizers, acoustic instruments, tape manipulation, and environmental textures to create music that is often reflective, intimate, and rooted in atmosphere. While much of my earlier output leaned heavily toward experimental ambient and drone, my recent work has increasingly focused on minimal composition.

Throughout the years I have released dozens of albums, EPs, and smaller works under several different aliases, each serving a distinct artistic purpose. You can explore more under Music section of the blog. Also, go to my Bandcamp or Youtube to hear those directly.

Rather than repeating a single style, I have always treated each project as an opportunity to explore a new musical language, whether through long-form ambient works, electroacoustic compositions, sound collage, or more traditional approaches to composition.

Outside of music, I have a longstanding interest in writing about the creative process. Never done this before to the larger audience so I've made this blog to try my luck! This site exists alongside my musical work as a place to publish various texts on different subjects, (hopefully) not only music ones. I believe that documenting creative work is almost as important as creating it. Music rarely exists in isolation, and understanding the circumstances in which a piece was written often reveals as much as the work itself.

Whether you are here to discover my music, read about its history, or simply explore whatever lies under my skull, I hope you find something worthwhile :)
